CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGN AND PERMITTING


GEM-IV FACILITY, ST. CLOUD, FLORIDA

The Gem-IV facility, St. Cloud, Florida near Orlando, Florida. The project consisted of developing an urban 3/4 acre site for use as a community center for the rehabilitation of alcoholics, (AA facility) The existing site was a grassed area located in the city limits of St. Cloud, in Osceola County, Florida. The Civil engineering design consisted of geometry layout of the building and parking lot, paving, grading, water, sanitary sewer hook up and storm water retention design. The site plans had to be approved by the city of St. Cloud and Osceola County for right of way connection to the existing road way. The civil engineering permits were obtained by H & H Engineering.

The Gem-IV facility site plans were developed to give the best use of land available and to meet the requirements of the city of St. Cloud, Osceola County and the South Florida Water Management district.(SFWMD) The site plans were designed and permitted in 2013 and the facility was constructed in 2014.
